An alternative to liposuction, injection lipolysis, the so-called Belkyra method is a method for removing the patient’s double chin. Before the procedure, local anaesthetics are applied to make the treated area numb. The intervention is outpatient and you can go home as soon as it’s done. The treated area may be swollen and tender for a few days after treatment.
A solution is injected into the patient’s subcutaneous fat to dissolve and destroy fat cells. No new cells will form in the hypodermis. Treatment must be repeated 3–5 times. It leaves no scars.
