As you age, mimic wrinkles start appearing on your face. By undergoing “Botox” injections, your skin is effectively smoothed and the formation of new wrinkles are prevented. The procedure removes wrinkles on the forehead, bridge of the nose, or around the eyes. It can also eliminate sweating (in the armpits, on the palms or feet). In some cases, botulinum toxin is used as a solution to severe headaches / migraines.
The intervention is very quick, gentle, and may be undergone repeatedly.
A day case surgery, it takes approximately 15–20 minutes. Botulinum toxin is applied under the skin, by giving several injections into the patient’s muscles (forehead, between the eyebrows, around the eyes).
The dosage temporarily blocks the neuromuscular endings in the muscles, preventing facial expressions. The “smoothening” effect occurs after ca 3 days.
The effect’s life is individual. Clients tend to undergo a repeated treatment within 6–12 months.
The patient shouldn’t lie down, bend over, or physically exert themselves for at least 4 hours after the treatment. It’s strongly recommended to forego any cosmetic treatments, facial massages, and sauna or tanning salon appointments for a week.
