Augmenting a patient’s breasts with her own fat comes with two advantages: Firstly, fat is removed from problem areas, and secondly, the patient’s cleavage is enlarged. A simple, gentle procedure takes away the patient’s fatty tissue which is then adjusted and placed in the breasts as a filler. The resulting effect is completely natural: your problem areas become slender and your breasts are augmented by up to 1 size. The benefit regarding this procedure is that it leaves no scarring.
Surgery is performed under general anaesthesia and usually takes 2–2.5 hours. The patient must consult the physician and undergo a prior pre-operative examination.
During surgery, the surgeon first removes fat from a selected area. The fatty tissue is sucked away and then purified. Finally, the fat is applied above and below the patient’s mammary gland, using a cannula and several small punctures.
Any swelling and bruising caused by breast augmentation that is done with the patient’s own fat heals quickly. This is mainly because the intervention leaves no scarring and the fat is easily accepted by the body as its natural part. However, the same post-augmentation regimen applies: rest, wearing an elasticated brassiere, and avoiding physical activities.
